Who should take this certification?

The Portfolio Management Professional Certification is designed and developed for practitioners at the executive or senior level; managing a portfolio of projects/programs aligned with an organizational and strategic assemblage of work.

Exam Prerequisites for Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP)®

For the Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP)® examination, you need to have knowledge about:

  • All applicants must possess a minimum of 96 months of professional business experience within the last 15 years and

  • Secondary degree (high school diploma, associate’s degree, or the global equivalent)

  • 84 months of portfolio management experience

  • All applicants must possess a minimum of 96 months of professional business experience within the last 15 years and

  • Four-year degree (bachelor’s degree or the global equivalent)

  • 48 months of portfolio management experience

Exam Format
  • The Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP)® examination has Multiple Choice and Multi-Response Questions that are randomly allocated.

  • The next important thing to note is that there are in total 150 questions that you need to answer in 4 hours.

  • Further, the cost of the PfMP examination is Member: US $800; Non-Member: US 1000, plus applicable taxes as required per local law.

  • The certification is valid for three years only.

Who should apply for it?

As an executive or high-level practitioner managing a portfolio of projects and programs to make sure it is aligned with the organizational goals, you are well-advised to apply for PfMP® certification.

To be eligible for it, as a secondary degree holder you must have at least 8 years of professional business experience and 10,500 hours of portfolio management experience. If you are a four-year degree holder, you need 6,000 hours of portfolio management experience.

PfMP® Certifying Process contains 2 phases.

The first one is a panel review to assess your professional experience based on your response to the Experience Summary. The other panel is a test with 170 multiple-choice questions with 4 hours to complete. Plus, you need to gain 60 PDUs every three years.

Courseware:
