Superfoods Suggested by Ayurveda to Eat in Winter Season

It is very important to stay warm during winter season. The onset of winter can make you feel weak and cold. Combining healthy food, regular exercise and other lifestyle ways can keep your body warm and mind and peace. Here, we are going to discuss about the best foods recommended by Ayurveda to be consumed in winters.
Golden or Turmeric milk
In Ayurveda, turmeric is the most important healthy spices that you can have easily at home. Turmeric or golden milk can help in staying you warm in winter season. You can drink a glass of turmeric milk before going to bed at night. Cardamom and dry ginger are also beneficial in winter days. It will keep your body warm and also improve sleep quality.
Jaggery (gud)
Made from sugarcane, Jaggery produces heat inside the body while cleansing it of any kind of toxic waste. This is such delightful food that it can also help in boosting your immunity while enhancing the production of digestive enzymes. So, you must include this food in your winter diet.
Khichdi with ghee
Khichdi is the healthiest food to have in winter season. It is a popular Indian cuisine for ages. It helps you to increase your immunity and easy to digest. This combination of rice & lentils when combined with veggies provides essential amino acids to the human body and makes the dish protein-rich as well. Those who do not keep well, are advised to eat this healthy food with ghee.
Drink hot water
According to Ayurveda, agni or fire, is an aid for your digestive system. Your digestive process can get slow each time you drink cold water, especially during the winter season. It is recommended to drink a hot cup of plain water after every 2-3 hours. Also, don't drink water in between means and try to drink hot water around 30-40 minutes post your meal.
Sesame seeds (til)
Sesame seeds also known as Til are naturally warm and full of good fats. Rich in rich in copper, iron, zinc and various vitamins, these seeds are known to be the superfoods in winter. It also helps you stay away from winter flu and build strong immunity. You can have it with jaggery in the form of Til Laddu. Sesame seeds is the most preferred desserts in winter.
