How To Stay Safe While Working On A Suspended Gondola?

Are you a construction worker planning to work at height above the ground on a suspended platform? Keep in mind that various safety tips are there that you need to follow in order to be on the safe side and ensure your well being at all the time you are up above.

1. Always wear safety equipment

Always wear proper eye protection (goggles) and ear protection (ear plugs). Wear gloves if you have to handle any electrical components. If you work at heights, always use a harness and/or lifeline.

2. Know the ropes before you climb

Before climbing, know how to safely attach yourself to the gondola suspended platform using a rope. Make sure you understand the knots and how they should be tied. Also, make sure you know where the emergency stop button is located.

3. Be aware of weather conditions

Know what weather conditions you may encounter while working on the suspended gondola. If you are going to be working outside, dress appropriately for the weather. You do not want to get cold, wet, or sunburned.

It is essential for you to get weather updates before you proceed to work on a suspension Gondola. If you find that the weather is going to be too hot or cold or windy, it is better to avoid working on that specific day in order to be on the website and avoid the loss of life or limbs.

4. Keep your tools close at hand

Keep your tools close at hand while working on a suspension platform. Do not leave them lying around unattended.

5. Use caution when moving heavy objects

When lifting or moving heavy objects, be careful not to drop them. When lifting something heavy, make sure you are holding on to something sturdy.

6. Stay alert

Stay alert at all times. Watch out for people who might fall off the gondola. If there is going to be someone else working with you on the Gondola you should be mindful of that person as well. If you sense something wrong with him, it would be a good idea to send him down.
