Make right to education a reality with Each One Educate One
Posted: Nov 11, 2022
It was September 2008 when the central government declared 11th November as National Education Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of India’s first minister of education - Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. This day is celebrated nationwide to emphasise the importance of education in a child’s life. Maulana Azad was a strong believer and supporter of free, values-based education for all below the age of 14. Similarly, the Each One Educate One (e1e1) Foundation is one such education NGO that was established with the mission of providing quality, values-based education to rural, underprivileged children.
Why is education important?
Education inculcates values of good and bad, right and wrong as well as how to use the knowledge in building better societies. Education is one of the rarest jewels one owns that can never be taken away by someone else. In line with the above-mentioned, e1e1 Foundation provides a holistic environment for children to learn and grow. This education NGO is spread across 20 districts of three states. It has 27 campuses and is currently nurturing 3,000 students.
The e1e1 Foundation believes every child has the right to education despite their economic background. So, when a donor chooses to sponsor a child, they enable the child to enter a nurturing environment which not only provides free education, but also takes care of other needs like accommodation and food. By and large, they accept admissions at Grade 6 because that is an age when children are easily mouldable. Once children are admitted, e1e1 Foundation takes care of them from every aspect including academics from Grade 6 to university level, accommodation, food, skill development, and more.
When you sponsor a child, they benefit from the thoughtfully designed Edu-Care Programmes of the e1e1 Foundation, i.e., Each One Educate One, Each One Embrace One, and Each One Higher Educate One. These programmes enable students to be competent and independent members of the society. They provide complete care which includes:
- Quality education, free of cost from grade 6 to university level
- Values-based activities
- Personality and skill development
- Internship programmes for graduates
- Safe, secure hostels for boys and girls
- Wholesome, nourishing food
The e1e1 Foundation is a trustworthy education NGO that maintains transparency and adopts accountability in their operations. And this is how your support makes a difference:
"Preethi Basavaraj was devoid of hope regarding her further education when the sole earning member, who was her father, lost his job. When the e1e1 Foundation took her under its wings during her pre-university level, she not only excelled in her academics, but also found an opportunity to give back to society by being a doctor. Preethi was a part of Sri Sathya Sai Prashanthi Niketanam, Chikballapur, Karnataka. While she made progress in her education, her father also received a job opportunity in the campus kitchen as the head chef. Preethi is now filled with gratitude for the e1e1 Foundation."
This National Education Day, you have an opportunity to enter the e1e1 Foundation’s 'circle of generosity’ and build a community of kind souls. Your choice to sponsor a child will write success stories of many children like Preethi Basavaraj. And education has the beautiful ripple effect of embracing everyone in its fold. So, once a child is educated, they go on to educate the next and the cycle continues.
Support e1e1 Foundation in their mission to educate all
This National Education Day, don’t just support education, rather make holistic education available for less-privileged children. Let children grow in an environment that not makes them literate, but makes them conscientious individuals. Sponsor a child and make way for a better, brighter, empowered generation.
