Sometimes we have the best intentions in the world to implement Islamic practices in our home beyond what is obligatory, but we make it too complicated, or we expect too much from ourselves or from our families. Islam is meant to be easy, and there are so many Sunnah practices that our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) used to do on a daily basis that do not require a lot of time or even effort! So why don't we start with this? We have listed below 7 Sunnahs that are easy and yet can do so much to fill up our hearts with love for Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). Let's learn and live them!

1. Eat and drink with your right hand

Ibn 'Umar reported the Prophet(as saying: When any of you eats, he should eat with his right hand, and when he drinks, he should drink with his right hand, for the devil eats with his left hand and drinks with his left hand. Note: you do not need to eat directly with your hand to fulfill this Sunnah. You can use utensils, just make sure to hold them in your right hand to eat.

2. Say Bismillah before eating

Aisha reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When one of you eats a meal, let him begin in the name of Allah. If he forgets to say it in the beginning, then let him say: In the name of Allah in its beginning and ending.

3. Say Bismillah when you enter your home

Jabir ibn Abdullah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When a man enters his home and remembers Allah when he enters and while he eats, Satan says to himself: You have no place to spend the night and no meal for evening. When he enters his home without remembering of Allah, Satan says to himself: You have found a place to spend the night. When he does not remember Allah while he eats, Satan says: You have found a place to spend the night and an evening meal.

4. Dress from the right side, undress from the left

'Aa'ishah, may Allaah be pleased with her, said: "The Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) used to prefer to start with the right side (over the left) when putting on his slippers, combing his hair, ritual purification, and in all his matters." (Muslim, Al-Bukhari) Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم (said, "If you want to put on your shoes, put on the right shoe first; and if you want to take them off, take the left one first. Let the right shoe be the first to be put on and the last to be taken off." (Sahih al-Bukhari 5855)

Al-Bara' b. 'Azib reported that Allah's, Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: When you go to bed, perform ablution as is done for prayer; then lie down on the right side. (Sahih Muslim 2710a)
