In July 2023 Google will officially be closing down Google Analytics Universal. This is happening due to the recent release of Google Analytics 4 (GA4). That means any website that is still using Google Analytics Universal will lose access to their analytics accounts.

Unlike the old Universal Analytics properties, you can use the new GA4 for a website, an app, or both together. Using Google’s advanced machine learning models, GA4 delivers exceptional performance in tracking the latest market trends and customer behavior across devices and platforms. The privacy-centric design ensures you can enjoy better ROI, especially for your long-term marketing plans.

GA4 is more than just an "upgraded" version of UA. It’s a completely redesigned system with a totally different approach to event and conversion tracking. Whereas UA tracked events as different "hit" types (page views, events, transactions, etc.), Google Analytics 4 tracks them all as an "event" — which means you’ll need to do some additional configuration for the most accurate data collection.

This change is obviously a huge problem for businesses that are still using Google Analytics Universal and there are a lot of business owners that are not aware of the changes that have happened (they will be in July next year). Then there are the business owners that want to make the switch but are unsure how because their website developers set them up with Google Analytics in the first place.

I will be showing you today, how easy it is to setup Google Analytics 4 in under 2 minutes. To learn how to setup Google Analytics 4 (GA4) following these easy steps.

You can easily create a Google Analytics 4 property for each of your existing Universal Analytics properties. After hitting "Create Property," follow these steps to complete the process.

Step 1. Before setting up your data tracking, you must first configure your Google Analytics 4 property.

Step 2. Create your GA4 property. under your GA account. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Step 3. After creating the property you will be asked copy the GA script. Insert the new script into your website's "header" code of your website.

Step 4. This script will need to be added to every page you want to track on your website.

That is all you need to do. The best part is every new property created on GA will automatically be a GA4 property.
