People want their dream abode to be a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and peace where they can indulge in a stress-free life with their loved ones. Buying or building a home is indeed a great achievement. But you have to do critical planning before deciding whether to buy a home or not.

This article will help you decide will buying a home will be a good idea or not. First, Let us have a close look at the advantages and disadvantages of buying a home:-

Advantages:-

  • The land on which your house is built belongs to you. You get lots of freedom while designing or modifying your own house than an apartment. You can expand, keep space for gardening in the front or back, and design it the way you like.

  • You have privacy and you don’t have to pay anything extra for the services you don’t use.

Disadvantages:-

  • Building a home from the scratch is expensive as well as time-consuming and it will cost you an arm and a leg.

  • You have to shoulder all the responsibilities alone ranging from calling a plumber to fixing a leakage in the kitchen pipe and trimming the plants of your garden if you have not hired a gardener.

  • The security of your home is also a concern. You are the one who is responsible for keeping your loved ones and your dream abode safe. You can always hire a gatekeeper if you want, but you have to pay for that.

In my opinion, though home gives you a sense of freedom that can’t be compared with anything else, with home your burden of responsibilities increases, and constructing a home is not only costly, it is also a time taking process. Buying an apartment will be more advantageous.

Apartments are affordable. All the residential apartments are built by some of the top real estate companies in Kolkata and are a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and affordability.

  • You can enjoy great amenities living in an apartment. The apartments in South Kolkata are situated amidst nature and have uber-luxurious facilities such as a swimming pool, gym, community center, exercise lawn, state-of-the-art- clubhouse, inbuilt jogging track, indoor badminton court, spa, lounge, library, elevator, etc all under the same roof.

  • Living in an apartment is much safer than living in a house as an apartment has security services round the clock to ensure your safety. The security services of the apartments keep track of the people entering the premises through CCTV cameras and maintain a register where people need to enter their details and the purpose of their visit but while living in a house your safety is entirely dependent on you. Moreover, during an emergency, you can get prompt help from others while living in an apartment.

  • Apartments are more convenient in size than houses. You can opt for a 2 BHK or 3 BHK apartment if you have 4-5 members. For college goers or bachelors 1BHK apartments will be a perfect choice.

  • Apartments have many people living in the same place so you can socialize a lot. Apartments have community halls where you can gather during festivals such as Durga Puja, Diwali, or birthday or anniversary celebrations and get to know each other and make new friends.

  • You don’t have to shoulder much responsibility while living in an apartment as there are people who can take care of your requirements such as finding an electrician, plumber, or carpenter. You just need to pay a monthly or yearly maintenance charge. Moreover, an apartment has ample space for parking.

In this first-paced life, we don’t have enough time to shoulder many responsibilities, and buying or building a house will add more responsibilities to your hectic schedule. Moreover, safety is also a concern for homeowners So, buying a residential apartment in South Kolkata will be a much better idea than buying a home.
