N. Chandrababu Naidu, when he was the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh and the current president of TDP, announced that his administration would revise the Vision 2020 plan for a planned and coordinated development of the remnant state to reflect the new conditions. According to him, the vision paper will be in line with and cover a 20-year term commencing with the 14th Finance Commission tenure beginning April 1, 2015.

The earlier vision 2020 document was updated in 2014; version 2.0, titled as Sunrise AP Vision 2029. N Chandrababu Naidu started concerted efforts to realize Andhra Pradesh’s vision of being one of the top three states in India by 2022, a developed state by 2029, and a leading global investment destination by 2050.

In order to foster sustainable and inclusive growth that would lead to a healthy and contented society, N. Chandrababu Naidu also sought to reform Andhra Pradesh by raising the state's human

development indicators and eliminating poverty.

With the aid of the international consulting company Mckinsey,N. Chandra Babu Naidu had a vision document created for the undivided AP during his second term in power. This time, he would draw inspiration from figures including Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft, among others, to create a growth plan for the state. In addition to his long-term planning ideas, N.CN. Chandra Babu Naidhandra Babu Naidu urged the secretaries of every government department to provide a 100-day action plan that included both short- and long-term solutions as well as course corrections for the advancement of the regions covered by these departments.
