Posted: Jan 09, 2023
What constitutes effective Leadership and Management?
You may be surprised to note that 86% of people expect business leaders to help them with societal problems that may impact their lives. Employees go to their bosses with issues rather than looking toward the public figure. This is not a surprise for many of us as we look at our leaders as role models and motivational agents. Leadership and management are all about building long-term relationships that have positive outcomes on both sides. It cannot be that the leader will profit from the relationship, but the employee will gain and grow. One of the central leadership theories is the relationship theory, where leaders focus on the style of leading people, which encompasses interactions and using these experiences to lead better in the business sector. These leaders are mentors of the people, and they discuss not only office problems but also external problems that may affect the psyche of the employee and that, in turn, impact their work.
Relationship theory in Leadership and Management training
Good leadership and management training teaches people how to relate to their employees and transform a negative relationship into a positive and profitable endeavor. It is not about being aggressive with your employees but also about walking side-by-side with them every step of the way. The 'relationship theory' main essence is to impact your workplace emotionally. In a lot of cases, employees believe that the leaders need to be more charismatic so that they would inspire them to work harder. A good employee and leader relationship are built on logic and also experience. The leader's power over the employees can be implemented in more than one day. However, authority does come with the role, but to exert influence over your employees, you need that extra help from training with professionals. Learning how to change your behavior to suit the situations and the emotional context of the environment is the best style a leader can utilize.
