For all kinds of shoes there are laces which are of varied sizes and shapes. The shoes with laces are preferred for its casual and formal looks and for providing flexibility to the shoes with respect to the feet. These Black and brown shoe laces are great shoelaces for the sports, recreational, casual, hiking boots and for top end formal shoes. The colour of the shoe decides whether to match it with a black shoelaces or Brown colour. As it is, there are many coloured laces available such as White, Black, mixed colours, glittery, waxed, leather coated, etc, but most often Black and Brown are the colours that will be chosen by the buyers. These colours are sure to work with most top end formal shoes as well.

Since the recreational and sports shoes are often in colours, the jazzy and waxed looking laces are preferred. As well as the mixed coloured ones like blue black, maroon glittery, etc. However, the black shoelaces are more popular as it can go with any colour shoes as long as it is neither too broad nor too thin. These shoe laces comes in varied sizes like round, oval, flat, thick, etc. The tips of these laces are tightly fitted with the aglets made of fibres or plastics. Sometimes metal clips are also found in the edges and the metals are of brass, silver or black metal. The heavy shoes for hiking or rough terrain needs strong laces to keep the shoes tightly clasped to the feet. One of the common colour laces for such type of shoes is black.

The shoe laces are treated as complete necessity items for shoes or as accessories when needed. That is depending on the need for a replacement lace or just a refreshing change for the shoes. A spare is then treated as an accessory. Most Shoe making companies manufacture the shoe laces as well to meet the accessory demands. They stock the laces along with polish, belts, liquid, brush, etc. There are also wholesale markets catering to the retailers demand. The manufacturing of the laces are part of the small scale industries and are concentrated on areas around the shoe manufacturing units, as much for the purpose of convenience.

The quality of the shoe laces are important criteria when someone looks at the shoe lace as an accessory. Then it is the length and style of the laces as decider. When it comes to choosing a colour from the lot, there will be more often two colours being the favourites i.e. Brown and Black. Brown shoe laces are waxed to provide good look and water resistance. With water soaked laces, the strength of the material reduces more often than not. The shine on the laces can be matched up with the shining shoes on formal wear. Black shoelaces surely tend to match most of the boots and high top shoes. The cotton and nylon versions are waxed to provide durability and polish looks. The lace also comes as material woven together to give it a cord look.
