Be A Ray Of Guiding Light To The Underprivileged This Sankranti
Posted: Jan 16, 2023
Makar Sankranti is a festival celebrated under various names all over the nation. It marks the new year's beginning and the new harvest season. Makar Sankranti is the time dedicated to humble acts towards society. One may find people donating towards the underprivileged and charitable causes.
Having 65% of the nation’s population residing in rural communities, this is the right opportunity to come forward and contribute towards rural development NGOs. With so many NGOs in the country, one such notable organisation is the Centre For Transforming India ( CFTI), a registered organisation under the Indian Trusts Act of 1882. This NGO has contributed majorly to help the poor by uplifting and empowering rural communities.
CFTI’s Contributions:
CFTI was established in 2009 with the only aim of uplifting the nation through united efforts in empowering rural communities. The rural development NGO has contributed majorly towards girls education, women empowerment, water conservation, healthcare, disaster management and skill development. Having impacted over 7,50,000+ lives since inception, they continue to impact more with each project they undertake. One such life is of Nikhat Hafiz Saiyyad, a young girl who successfully passed their skills training workshop. Here’s sharing how the tailoring programme transformed Nikhat’s life.
Nikhat is a second-year B.Com student from Shaikhache Gaon, a small village in Maharashtra. Having to support the education of her young siblings and COVID-19 impacting job opportunities, it was difficult for her family to meet ends. She approached CFTI for their tailoring program with the belief that clothing is a basic need and something everyone will always require. Having such a strong belief, she completed the tailoring sessions with flying colours. She is thankful to CFTI for providing a comprehensive yet affordable course for rural communities. Today, she stands tall with financial independence and the ability to support her family and contribute to the education of her siblings.
Nikhat and many other underprivileged women have successfully graduated from the skills training workshops conducted by CFTI over the past few years. This has been possible with the generous contributions from their donors, corporate partners and volunteers. Inching closer to Makar Sankranti, Let’s understand the various ways you can contribute and become the ray of light for the underprivileged.
CFTI provides 4 ways one can partner to help the poor:
- Directly donate towards rural development and uplift the nation from poverty and unemployment.
- Partner as an organisation to fulfil your social responsibility by making an NGO donation.
- Volunteer with CFTI on the ground level and make an impact on the lives of the underprivileged.
- Organise a fundraiser for the upliftment of rural communities.
One may ask about the importance that lies in contributing to NGO donation. The number one cause is the upliftment of rural communities through united partnerships and tireless efforts by all. Secondly, partnering with a rural development NGO such as CFTI can help millions of underprivileged women upskill themselves to be the best versions of themselves while being financially independent citizens of the nation.
Conclusion:
Having impacted 1 million+ underprivileged lives, CFTI is truly the right rural development NGO to partner with this new year. Be an agent of change in the lives of the underprivileged. To know more about CFTI's initiatives and programmes, visit their website at https://cftiindia.com/.
