The check valves are used for protecting the pumps/systems from reverse flow, which can make the pumps/systems dysfunctional gradually. The use of Check Valves is also employed to keep the various areas of the plants in isolated state. In nuclear power plants, these are used to protect certain areas from getting contaminated. There are various types of check type of valves such as:

Swing check type of valves: Swing these valves are considered the most commonly used check valves. These valves have simple design & generate minimum pressure drop. These are also easy on maintenance.

Tilting disc check valves: These valves in comparison to swing check type of valves generate more pressure drop. The valves also feature a single-piece disc without any hinge.

Lift (piston) check valves: Also known as piston checks, these valves are globe valves. The valves neither have the stem nor the top works. This enables the disc to respond to the flow rates and direction.

Stop-check valves: Stop-check valves are also globe valves & feature a stem that is unattached to the disc. As the stem is in fully open position, the valve takes on the role of a lift these valve.

Dual-plate check valve: Dual-plate check type of valves are very much like the in-line check valves as these don’t have any bonnet. These are placed between pipe flanges and also feature 2 spring loaded discs that are shaped half-moon.

In-line check valve: These valves are popularly used for preventing the reverse flow with the aid of the disc movement. Owing to its design the disc is always set in the path of the flow.

Different valves feature different performance characteristics & suit varied piping system requirements. With the increase in water pollution, valve corrosion/abrasion problems have also multiplied. This is the reason why many resort to the use of bronze/brass valves.

  • In the bronze/brass valves; the bonnet, body and various other parts do not corrode as the valves have small amount of zinc in them.
  • Many establishments such as hotels, schools, homes, schools etc. use copper tubing along with brass/bronze valves in water-line applications. It aids in resisting corrosion and also helps in creating the right sanitation conditions.

There are many trusted Brass Check Valve Manufacturers in Gujarat known for providing durable and highly functional valves to the consumers. One can choose from the wide range of valves according to one’s requirement. The valves can be procured at very reasonable prices too.
