You might be well familiar with the terms Arabica and Robusta and understand what they mean, but do you know the secret to make that perfect cuppa coffee? As a layman, all that we care for is to have delicious cup of coffee that has the most flavorful taste and the most intriguing of the aromas. So much so, that our day starts only when we have had one or two cups of java in the morning. Remember how much we dread the days when our supplies of coffee are short?!! Types of coffee:

Do you know how many types of coffee varieties are there in the world? You would be utterly amazed to know that there are only two major types of coffee that cater to the world’s consumption of the java drink. Basically, there are two types of coffee bean that are available in the markets. They are the Arabica coffee and the Robusta coffee. These are only the two available varieties of the coffee seed. The rest are simply the grading and the brands of it. Of the two, the former one is the most favored the world over. It makes up for the seventy percent of the world consumption of coffee as well.

Essence of great coffee:

As a coffee enthusiast and as a coffee lover, you would agree that there is good coffee and then, there is bad coffee. So, what is the reason for this distinction? The main factor is the choice of the coffee type that goes into the making of it.

The quality of coffee:

Firstly, it is the difference of quality in the Arabica and Robusta. The former one creates a light, mildly flavored and aromatic coffee that is low on the caffeine content. The latter is the more intensely flavored and high on the caffeine content of the two. In fact, Robusta beans contain almost twice the amount of caffeine that is found in the Arabica bean. They pack in a strong flavor that is also bitter in taste. This impacts their flavor and how they taste to a great extent.

The roasting method:

Next is the roasting method that is undertaken to make that coffee. The dark roast, mild roast and the coffee that is roasted on demand of the customer to meet the specific taste requirement of the person; all taste unique and different from each other. The other types like decaf coffee also varies in the taste it offers. It is simply a coffee that has no caffeine content in it. So, it give the coffee flavor but without the kick of the caffeine. It is preferred by those who are highly health conscious.

The storage method:

Believe it o not, the way you chose to store your coffee also affects the way it tastes. Storing it in the air tight container will preserve its taste and aroma and also slow down its oxidation process. You can even choose to store the air tight container in the deep freezer for the same.

So, we see that there are various factors involved that influence the taste and flavor of the simple cup of coffee in a highly complex method of making it.
