Born on April 13th, 1469, we celebrate the life birthdate of a great thinker, philosopher and activist with an intellect more than anyone living in those times. During his travels, he spread the message that ‘there is only one God, and God resides in everything he creates. The sacred Sikh scripture Guru Granth Sahib contains a vast collection of verses encoded in Gurmukhi, his language of instruction.

The Lord said that everyone should seek the best for others irrespective of religion, caste, or gender, as that is the only way to gain that goodness in return. During the daily Ardaas prayer, it is said, "Nanak Naam Chardi Kala Tere Bhane Sarbat da bhala," which means, "Nanak may everyone in the world prosper and dwell in peace."
