  • You are supposed to click on the Windows start menu.

  • After that, you need to type in the word file explorer into the search bar and open file explorer.

  • Then, choose the My Computer option from the navigation bar.

Solution 2: Change Folder Settings and Set up Your Access Permission

You can modify the folder settings and enable the access permissions to fix this issue in the following way:

For Windows 8.1

  • Press the Windows + letter R key on the keyboard and open the Run window.

  • Then type %temp% in the space box of the Run window and click OK.

  • After that, right-click on the Temp folder and click on Share.

  • Then, click the Add button under the Advanced Security tab and choose Select a Principal.

  • Then, you need to click on Find Now under the Advanced option.

  • Later, select the user and click OK.

  • Now, allow Full Control for the user and click on OK.

For Windows 7, 8, 10

  • First, hit on the Windows + R key on the keyboard.

  • And then, type %temp% in the Run window and hit Enter.

  • Now, you need to locate the Temp folder and right-click on it.

  • Then, choose Properties, then Sharing, and then click on the Share button.

  • After this, you need to add the account that you have logged in on Windows.

  • Then, add the QuickBooks Data Service User version.

  • After that, allow Full Control Access to both of the users and then click on Share.

Solution 3: Delete Temporary Files from the System

When you delete the files from the temp folder, then it can free up the space on your hard drive and can rectify the QuickBooks out-of-memory error. But make sure that you sign in as Windows Admin before proceeding with the given steps:

  • First, navigate to the C:\Users \Username \AppData \Local \Temp location on your system.

  • Then, select all the files in your Temp folder by pressing the Control key + A key on the keyboard.

  • Now, after deleting all the files, try to again install QuickBooks Desktop.
