Bagmane Tech Park Encroachment

Due to recent encroachment on a stormwater drain that caused significant flooding in several areas of Bangalore during the first week of September 2022, Bagmane Tech Park has been placed under BBMP's surveillance.

Although the tech park acknowledged that it had encroached into a stormwater drain, it also claimed that Purva Parkridge's constructor was accountable for the same. Puravankara Ltd., a renowned real estate developer, constructed the residential property Purva Parkridge.

The stormwater drain at Bagmane Tech Park was discovered to have been infiltrated by around 2.4 meters. "Yes, we have covered the stormwater drain with slabs," said Mr. Chakravarti, the company's general manager. We took such action just to prevent water from Mahadevapura Lake from overflowing.

Two of the 149 villas in Puravankara Purva Parkridge have encroached over the stormwater drains by 2.5 meters, according to a survey conducted there. To make sure, the property was surveyed again.

The court's ruling will decide what happens next. According to projections, over 700 stormwater drains in Bangalore were unlawfully halted and encroached on by major builders, which caused terrible flooding in the city.

Bagmane Park Demolition

Bangalore's municipal body, BBMP, has begun a demolition drive because of the severe flooding. To prevent further severe flooding, the local officials are tearing down buildings near the stormwater drain. As a result, the Karnataka Lokayukta has recommended that BBMP and Bagmane Tech Park work together.

The tech park requested that the Karnataka Lokayukta stop the demolition campaign on its property, but the Lokayukta declined. However, it has requested that before beginning any demolition, municipal officials take legal action. The BBMP declared that they would carry out the demolition in accordance with the High Court's ruling.

The developer of Bagmane Tech Park demolished its concrete slabs on Tuesday, September 22, 2022. The 80-meter-long slabs, according to the BBMP (Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike), blocked the stormwater drain that runs through the campus.

According to a BBMP officer in charge of tearing down SWD encroachments in the Mahadevapura zone, the tech park removed the slabs covering the drain, allowing the appropriate water flow to be activated.

The developer willingly arranged for encroachment clearance, according to the BBMP spokesman. The fresh study verified the encroachments, so the developer took fast action. The high court received survey details from BBMP.

Bagmane Tech Park is included in BBMP’s campaign to eliminate encroachment. It includes many luxurious properties in Karnataka, including Epsilon (Yemlur), Gopalan International School, DivyaSree 77 East, Wipro, RMZ EcoSpace, Prestige Group (Borewell Road), TCED Apartment, and Nalapad Academy.
