The NSW State Nomination Updates are here! This is important for you who have been patiently waiting for the reopening of the state nomination program. The NSW Government opens the nomination for both onshore and offshore candidates but will prioritize those who work under the targeted sectors.

While Australia is building the domestic pipeline of highly skilled workers, the permanent Migration Program will help:

      • build resilience
      • boost productivity
      • support our economy as it transitions to net-zero emissions.

The 2023–24 permanent Migration Program also recognizes the strong contribution all migrants make to social cohesion. It focuses on strengthening family and community bonds in Australia. It also demonstrates the Government’s commitment to family reunification.

The permanent Migration Program will help address the challenges of an ageing population. Migration reduces the average age of the population and slows the rate of population ageing. This is because migrants are, on average, younger than the existing Australian population.

A well-targeted, skills focused Migration Program supplements the cohort of working-age people. It helps boost participation rates and the size of the labor force.

Changes on NSW State Nomination for FY 2023-24

As part of the NSW State Nomination Updates, let’s see the changes applied to the program for the financial year 2023-24.     • Hold a valid Skills Assessment for an occupation in a NSW priority sector;
    • Must be a resident of NSW and have lived there continuously for at least six months, or currently residing overseas and have lived there continuously for at least six months.
