Honda Motors, one of the top foreign car manufacturers announced that it would continue their quest to make electric vehicles. Taking mandates from across the United States for zero emissions, allegiance to research to produce and meet the needs to keep green.

Environmentally friendly vehicles include those technologies that include but not limited to alternative fuels. Foreign countries have also made stringent standards to protect their environments. Honda has been involved in this important research for years.

Vehicle research for electromotive transportation is paramount to Honda. Technologies include the use of battery-operated vehicles; plug in hybrid vehicles, and fuel cell vehicles. With the education taking place and awareness of removing any emissions from the environment, the buying public is making decisions when it comes to vehicle purchase to help meet the needs of the environment. This type of technology reduces greenhouse gas emissions as well as contributing to the energy independence we all want as a country.

Honda announced in March of this year, that it would discontinue the Insight hybrid. Sales were disappointing but it did not hamper Honda’s dedication to continue development of electromotive transportation. The market is pushing for electrification and Honda is not resting but investing in research to meet their commitment.

Basically, the Fit EV was ahead of its time. There is no gas engine but along with that, the elements that people loved were removed with a higher price. It boasted 82 MPH but interior roominess was lost as well as only one color and trim level available. Charging stations are few and far between and the public has not yet jumped as far as they should on the electronic car bandwagon. Honda picked up on that trend.

For several years, Honda has been partnering and testing in the District of Kumamoto regarding next generation mobility. The program included the study of electromotive technologies for plug in hybrids. Renewal energy as solar power has been reviewed as well as enhancing the QOL (quality of life) not only to residents in Japan but the United States.

Electronic vehicle testing programs began sprouting around the US and several parts of Japan.

There is a desire for fuel celled electronic vehicles as well as multi-mode all electronic- petrol-electric hybrid and engine drive. A Toshiba produced lithium ion battery was reviewed that charged at 200-volt source in less than six hours.

Plug in hybrid also have three drive modes and lithium ion battery. Charging stations developed several years ago in Japan’s Kumamoto district, are being used in advanced telematics and communications for huge varieties of electronic program objectives. Customer satisfaction is primary with Honda as well as safety. Charging stations are able to be located through car navigation systems or smart phones.

But Honda will continue to invest time and money to progress their electromotive transportation goals. "We are committed to electromotive technology, such as hybrids, plug-in hybrids, BEVs, PHEVs and fuel-cell automobiles. Our path forward consists of a robust lineup of those technologies."

Today’s market in automotive technologies is competitive and not only is appeal but what it will cost the end-user. It is the desire of most people to be energy independent. Japan’s dedication to innovation as well as producing at times, cars superior in craftsmanship and parts to U.S. carmakers only keeps Honda’s desire to be on the cutting edge and remain there.
