Arjuna Award to 26 players including Mohammad Shami:

The National Sports Awards 2023 were revealed on Wednesday by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award 2023 will be to Chirag Chandrasekhar Shetty and Rankireddy Satwik Sai Raj for their invaluable contribution to Badminton. In addition, Muhammad Shami, an Indian fast bowler, will be among the 26 athletes who will receive the Arjuna Award for Outstanding Performance in Sports and Games 2023.

The ministry said that the government had selected all of these players, coaches, and organizations for the awards based on the recommendations of the committees and after due investigation. The ministry also announced the list of players, coaches, and organizations that received all the awards.

The National Sports Awards will be given on 9 January 2024, at a grand function organized at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
