The Best School for Holistic Development
Posted: Jan 01, 2024
VIBGYOR Group’s efforts in ensuring #FoundationalLearning at the Pre-Primary level have been recognised at the International Conference on Early Childhood Care Education & Research.
VIBGYOR Group of Schools, a part of @AmpersandGroup, recently received the prestigious GijubhaiBadheka ECCE awards as "The Best School for Holistic Development for the child" as well as "Parents’ First Choice Preschool" at the International Conference on Early Childhood Care Education & Research in October 2023 at New Delhi.
#ECCE stands for Early Childhood Care and Education. It focusses on a child’s learning and development from birth to 6 years of age.
As per @UNESCO, ECCE is the "holistic development of a child’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs in order to build a solid and broad foundation for lifelong learning and wellbeing."
A solid start by ECCE experts help build a sound foundation for the future and help children achieve their full potential. Since children in the 6 months to 6 years age group are more vulnerable, they need to be given a safe, nurturing environment, along with age-appropriate stimulation for their cognitive, physical and socio-emotional growth, to ensure their school-readiness.
Foundational learning consists of early language, literacy and numeracy skills along with cognitive, social and emotional development. Foundational Literacy and Numeracy are the building blocks to more complex learning in later stages of life. These are considered gateway skills, as they form the very basis of later life outcomes, both within and beyond the purview of school learning.
Early #literacy helps children read, write and communicate. These are skills needed for children to effectively express their thoughts, feelings and needs as well as to understand and have conversations with others.
Early #numeracy enables a child to carry out basic calculations and supports in development of logical thinking skills and reasoning strategies.
VIBGYOR recognises the importance of building strong #FLN skills for young children. The usage of a combination of Visual, Auditory and Kinaesthetic tools in a blended teaching model at VIBGYOR Early Childhood Care & Education centres ensures that the young ones enrolled with the program receive the best possible start in their academic journey.
With over 7000 children in 36 pre-primary VIBGYOR schools across the country, VIBGYOR is highly committed towards ensuring FLN at the Pre-Primary level. With this award, GFECER recognises our efforts in the same.
