Lice infestation- a better solution

Head lice infestation also known as Pediculosis capitis is the infestation of head and scalp due to lice. Head lice are tiny parasites which live off blood from our scalp. Head lice are common, especially among the school going children where they indulge in activities like playing and sport which case physical interaction and they catch lice. There is a misconception that lice fly from one head to another which is totally wrong. Infestation occurs when there is a direct contact with an already infected person as flies do not fly but crawl from one head to another.

People infested a very anxious to learn how to treat nits. There are many hair lice treatment but the natural lice treatment are the best. Some of the natural lice treatments are:

1. Essential Oil Treatment:

The best essential oils include olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil and baby oil. All these are essential oils are cheap and easily available. You just need to take any one of the oil as per your requirement. After warming it a bit, apply it gently all over your hairs especially shafts. Make sure your hairs are thoroughly oiled. The strong essence of the essential oils will cut the air supply for lice. Then cover your head with shower cap and keep the oil for 10-12 hours or overnight. Comb your hairs in the morning and remove all the dead lice. Then rinse your hairs with warm water and shampoo. Dry your hairs with hair dryer. The hot air will absorb the moisture from lice and nits and will increase the chances of success. Repeat this process after 3-4 days for more effectual results.

2. The Smothering Technique:

This technique has been proved to be so effective that it is highly recommended to any one with lice infestation. In this process the hairs are smothered with thick substances like Vaseline and mayonnaise. This process is quite messy so after applying Vaseline or mayonnaise cover your head with plastic or shower cap. Leave the substances overnight for best results. Repeat this process after one week. This technique is very effective in killing these parasites and stopping lice infestation.

3. Vinegar Treatment:

White Vinegar has the power to lose the tight grip of nits which are attached with the hair shafts. You just need to take white vinegar and wash your hairs with it. Leave your hairs soaked with vinegar for 10-15 minutes. Cover your hairs with shower cap in the meanwhile. Rinse your hairs afterwards with warm water. Then again repeat the same process. After that start combing your hairs useing a thin nit comb and try to remove as much as nits and lice as possible. This is one of the finest techniques to remove nits from the hairs.

4. Tea-tree Oil Technique:

The tea-tree oil is said to have antiseptic qualities that the parasites seem to dislike. You can add drops of tea-tree oil in your shampoo or spray it in your hairs to cure lice infestation.
