You know you'll be able to stay nice and cool just by flipping a switch, and you'll feel the cool air start blowing. However, what happens when your air conditioner goes on the fritz? If you're like most people, you probably start to panic. How are you going to stay cool when the weather heats up? Sure, you can put on some fans, but they certainly won't keep you as cool as your air conditioning will. When you most people notice that there is a problem with their air conditioning system, the issue has gotten pretty serious and the repairs can be pretty pricy. In order to avoid being stuck without cool air and having to pay for expensive repairs, it's a wise idea to be aware of some of the common signs that indicate there is trouble with your air conditioning system.

There are some sure-fire signs that indicate there is a problem with your air conditioner, and be aware of these signs will allow you to have the problem fixed before it becomes a major issue.
Loud Noise. Though air conditioning units are made so that they run as quietly as possible, they still do make some degree of noise. However, if you start to hear a very loud or an excessive amount of noise, you might want to call in an expert technician to take a look at the system. The problem could linked to disconnected or loose parts. Another problem could be that your motor is going bad. Pay close attention to the noise you hear coming from your air conditioning unit. If you hear it getting louder, call a technician.
Slow Flow of Air. If you notice that the flow of air coming out of your air conditioner has started to slow down, there could very well be something wrong with the unit. The speed of the air flow coming from the air conditioner will vary depending on the air filter and the age of the unit, but it shouldn't be drastically slow. If you notice that the flow of air coming out of the vents, the air filter may need to be changed. The air filter should be changed regularly to ensure a smooth flow of air. A clean air filter will also improve the quality of the air that is being pumped out of the system. If you have tried changing your air filter and you are still having a problem with slow air flow, you may need to call an HVAC technician.
The Air is Warm. One of the most obvious signs that there is a problem with your air conditioner is warm air, or, it make take longer for the air to cool. The problem could be caused by low coolant, which is a simple fix. However, the problem may be more severe and could require a serious repair.
