Bethenny Frankel dresses to impress in LBD in New York... after hitting back at claims she's too thin

Her slim frame is often the subject of debate but Bethenny Frankel recently hit back at critics who say she is too thin.

The 44-year-old entrepreneur insisted she can't win, and the pressure would be even worse if she was overweight.

And Bethenny looked as slim as ever as she stepped out in New York on Thursday in a figure-hugging black dress which was slashed to her upper thigh

Bethenny added heels, tights and a black coat as she enjoyed a day out in the city.

And while she appeared to be in high spirits, it was just a few days ago that Bethenny lashed out at her critics.

Talking to her pal Meredith Vieira on her chat show, she said she was 'sick over the holidays' and asked: 'Do I look like I need to eat a burger?'

Meredith reassured her: 'I think you look great personally.'

'I don’t know. I feel like who cares, they are always going to say something,' said Bethenny.

'I do have a brand called Skinnygirl so I am going to get beaten up for it. It would be bad if I were overweight and had a brand called Skinnygirl, could you imagine?'

Meredith told the star: 'That would be ridiculous.'

But while the two were friendly when talking about Bethenny's frame, Meredith didn't hold back as she branded Bethenny a liar.

Harking back to her last interview with the reality star in October, Meredith reminded Bethenny that she had denied she was returning to Real Housewives of New York.

Meredith explained: 'Last October I welcomed you into my home because I love you. Very nice, I asked if you’d be returning to The Real Housewives of New York.'

A video then showed Bethenny saying 'I’m over at Bravo a lot, I don’t know if that’s why they are saying that but I have no deal. I have no deal to go back on the Housewives.'

But Meredith was unimpressed.

'Two weeks later, two weeks later you announce, "Oh, I’m back on the show." Why would you lie to me? Or as they say on the Housewives, Why would you lie to me b****?'

But Bethenny was unrepentant about her omission, telling Meredith: 'Listen b****. Did I say I have no deal to go back on Bravo, did I say that?

'I was not lying. No, this is truth.

'I had no deal to go back on Bravo and you know Meredith Vieira, with your own talk show, that if you don’t have a deal and it’s not signed the deal can fall through at anytime.'

Her explanation did not sit well with Meredith, who had hoped for an exclusive from her old pal.

'You could have done a winky, winky, winky,' she insisted.

But Bethenny insisted: 'I did say I am talking to Andy Cohen about a couple of different projects and I was talking about that one and I was talking to him about another one.

'I would not lie.'
