Your bathroom is a very important room in your home. Many people may not think about this, but a bathroom needs to provide its users with both style and comfort. We have all been in bathrooms that were either not designed at all or that were designed poorly, without form or function. A great bathroom design takes into account all the different needs of the household and incorporates a style that doesn't just look good but also reflects the personality of the client. We’ve helped countless clients work through successful and cost-efficient bathroom decorating projects at Pure Bathrooms, and during that time we’ve come to identify some ideas and trends that you may want to consider as you get ready to get started on your own effort.

1. Tasteful Tile

Based on what we’ve heard from our clients and our designers, tile is making a big comeback in the bathroom. The days of fiberglass appear to be over. The majority of our customers simply prefer the look and the feel of tile. Tile patterns have gotten progressively more creative recently as well. This is your chance to go bold and make an impact.

2. To Tub or Not to Tub?

It’s long been assumed that people who do not have a bathtub in their home would see their resale value suffer. That may be changing as more people are simply foregoing the tub and putting in a spacious walk-in shower. Those who are putting a tub in the master bathroom are leaning more toward the freestanding models.

3. Luxurious Showers

Since people are generally investing more into their showers for their bathroom design project and less on bathtubs, they’re also spending a bit more in terms of the showers that they get. One of the more popular models is the double-header. This often includes a rain showerhead and a more traditional showerhead stacked vertically.

4. Lush Plants

Bathroom decorating is getting more unconventional in general, with the trend going towards bathrooms with vibrant designs and plants. What’s a better way to put some life into your bathroom design than with some actual plants? Plants and flowers are becoming more and more popular with people who want to add some extra ambiance to their new bathrooms. Of course, any plants that are chosen should be able to handle an indoor and humid environment.

5. Frosty Feet? No Problem!

People who live in colder climates understand that a morning shower can be difficult for many reasons, particularly if the bathroom floor is cold. That’s why a lot of recent bathroom decorating projects, particularly in places where cold is a factor in winter, have included heated floors. It’s not as expensive as you may think and it makes that morning shower experience that much better.

There are a lot of different ways in which someone can go if they want to complete a bathroom design. For those who may be unsure of how to get started, all you need to do is work with a designer.
