Express Entry is the prime way for Indians to immigrate to Canada as a permanent resident. It is a point-based immigration system through which skilled workers can apply for Canada PR visa from India. Express Entry evaluates the profile of the applicant based on various factors - age - one of the prime factors. Other factors include education, work experience & language skills. Apart from Express Entry, you can also apply for Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs), popular immigration programs for moving to Canada with similar selection factors.

Age Limit for Canada PR

Though there is no age limit to apply for Canada PR. However, when it comes to the Express Entry program, your chances of acquiring permanent residency get slim as you get older.

The minimum age to apply for Canada PR is 18 and the maximum is 45 - for Express Entry. But you can only get maximum points when you are between the ages 18 and 35.

You need to achieve 67 points (out of 100) in the 67-point calculator to qualify for applying. Even if you don’t get the maximum points in the age factor, you can still score 67 points by achieving higher points in other factors like education and work experience. Getting a job in Canada will also help with 10 extra points.

Age Points With or Without Your Spouse

When you are placed in the Express Entry pool, your profile is again ranked based on the same factors as the 67-point calculator but this time you get a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.

If you are single, you get higher points. The maximum points you can get without a spouse or common-law partner is 500 points and 460 for those with a spouse or common-law partner. To check your score, use the CRS score calculator for Canada PR.
