In this article, I’m going to tell you some great ways to import Google contacts to Gmail. When you are leaving your current organization and joining another organization or if you want to change your email address then this could be very useful for you. In this article, we will discuss how to import Gmail contacts to another Gmail account.
Mirroring your contacts from one email account to another is not a big thing if you are using another email service provider. Still, it is a different story if you are using your Gmail as your email account. There are a few rounds to cross through before you can successfully transfer Google contacts to another account.
Before resolving the issue instantly, let’s move ahead and understand the reason for importing Google contacts to Gmail.
Why do you need to transfer Google contacts to another account
There are several reasons to transfer Google contacts to another Gmail account. Some of the reasons I’m including are:
- If you purchased a new Android device, you have to use your Google account to sync the contacts from Gmail.
- You can also sync contacts from your Google account to the old Gmail account if you want to switch to the non- Android device.
- If you want to backup and transfer your contacts, you can do so by going into your settings.

Know how to transfer contacts from Gmail to Gmail
- Sign in to your Gmail account with your credentials.
- Now, scroll down to the Google Contacts Page and click on the export button.
- Then select the contacts, choose Google CSV as the export option under Export Contacts, and hit the button.
- Once the CSV file is downloaded it will be stored in your destination path.
Import Google contacts to Gmail
- Login to your existing or new Gmail account by entering your required Credentials.
- Then, click on the Import button on the left side of your page to import contacts.
- Click on the select file button on the pop-up page below and choose and choose the downloaded CSV file in the previous part.
- At last, press the Import button to import all the contacts into your new Gmail account.
Based on your contacts list, Google Contacts sometimes take time to import contacts from the CSV file. After successfully importing your contacts, you can check your contacts in your contacts section on the left side of the panel. You can also merge and duplicate contacts if any are using the merge and fix part. To fix merging contacts, you can choose the option from the left side of the section and click on the merge button.
