It’s not the powder blue Prius in the famous Jeff Dunham comedy. The 2015 Prius c is now available in drastic new colors: Electric Lime Metallic, Tangerine Splash Pearl and Sparkling Sea Metallic. Regardless of color, the new Prius C body style allows maneuverability in city traffic, while still remaining stylish. Standard four passenger doors provide access to a roomy interior; and the rear hatch back is invaluable for this all purpose vehicle. Combined with the 60/40 rear fold down seats, the Prius is ready to carry almost any cargo.

The Prius is still the queen bee of hybrids. Each new generation of Prius demonstrates how far Toyota’s hybrid technology moves the bar. Indeed, Japanese based Toyota continues to manufacture ‘the’ hybrid with the best mileage at the lowest cost. The new 2015 version of the Prius C is rated at 53 miles per gallon for city driving, and 46 miles per gallon on the highway.

Exterior style changes have enhanced the necessary aerodynamics of any high mpg vehicle. The face of the vehicle sports a grill reminiscent of a transformer movie car, accented with sharp LED headlights and fog lights. The high profile contoured roof now sports a ‘shark fin’ or ‘hornet’ antenna for enhanced reception. Tail lighting has been modernized to the popular ‘light pipes’, and some models are available with moon roof options. Fifteen inch wheels or optional 16 inch alloys keep this vehicle rolling.

Toyota boasts of enhanced interior material upgrades which vary with the four available classes of the 2015 Toyota Prius c. Available are two tone fabric seat options in Dark Blue, Grey and Charcoal mixtures. Drivers will enjoy the telescoping steering wheel, adjustable seating, cruise control and Bluetooth hands free phone capability. Dash display includes outside temperature, fuel information and trip mileage. New to this model is more responsive steering and enhanced electronic stability control for a safer ride. Other safety features include nine airbags and remote keyless entry.

Passengers will be entertained with the Entune multimedia infotainment system, including a 6.1" touch screen, iPod connectivity and a six speaker audio system.

Spectacular mileage is accomplished with a gasoline/electric combo. The 1.5 liter four-cylinder gas engine generates 73 horsepower with 82 lb.-ft. of torque, kick in the compact electric motor and these two power sources amp up to 99 horsepower. The power for the electric engine, nickel-metal-hydride battery packs are conveniently concealed under the rear passenger seats. This 2015 beauty relies on the same tried and true transmission as previous models.
