With this engine, the Dodge Durango receives a best-in-class 6,200 towing capacity and yet is still able to reach 25 mpg while on the highway. The upgraded model of the Durango comes with a 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine, which increases the performance to 360 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque while upping the towing capacity to 7,400 pounds. However, probably the most incredible feature of the V-8 version is that it is still able to obtain 23 mpg on the highway. This is because the vehicle uses fewer cylinders when it can to decrease fuel consumption.
