Best Time for Organizing Motivational School Assembly Programs for Students
Posted: Feb 19, 2015
School assemblies are held for many beneficial reasons. First, these kinds of programs help uphold school spirit, while students learn "large group behavior," which is something that they will need as they face other learning experiences in the future. Motivational assemblies also provide students with an opportunity to hear and learn from people they don't normally see or get the chance to engage with inside classroom environments. These activities also expose children to principles and values that may not be regularly tackled in everyday education, ranging from self-respect to personal responsibility, motivation, and other relevant issues.
There is really no right or wrong time to organize motivational school assemblies. Many institutions choose to have their school programs at the start and then again at the end of a school term, helping students gain the momentum that they need to start the school term right and the motivation to continue their progress. Other schools also schedule additional assemblies in between to make sure that momentum isn't lost and that their students stay motivated and inspired to study well and participate in various school activities that help in their personal development.
The time after a significant event such as a local calamity or a national tragedy is also a good time to organize a motivational school assembly. When children and school staff's spirits are down and when people lack the enthusiasm to enrich their school experiences are great instances to initiate these kinds of programs. Motivational assemblies and programs are great tools to lift the school's spirit up and inspire everyone to take on a more positive outlook for the future.
To make sure that students stay motivated well after holding your motivational programs, it is best to develop follow-up activities that will inspire them to continue the change they have started to make as a result of the program. The best motivational speakers can provide you with follow up activities that you can adopt to maximize the positive effects of the program. Allowing students to share their observations and experiences through their own narratives is also a great way to help them process and internalize the entire experience through reflective writing.
Whether the purpose of your school assembly is for celebration, recognition, education, motivation, or inspiration, make sure to find the appropriate event speaker that has the ability to draw the crowd's attention and affect positive change to the listeners.
