Rabia Bala Hatun who is also known as Bala Hatun occupies a unique status in the Ottoman annals of history as the wife of Osman I the founder of the Ottoman kingdom. Still, her impact on the early days of the formation of the empire and her family connections make her a subject that is worth studying despite the fact that quite a lot of facts about her personal life remains unknown to this day.

Rabia Bala Hatun was born in late 13th century and she died in early 14th century, therefore, she witnessed political changes in Anatolia.
