Posted: Sep 29, 2024
Anemia is the blood disorder commonly found in humans and is the result of decreased production of red blood cells in the body. This dysfunction leads to fatigue, headaches, dizziness, or shortness of breath, and pale or yellow skin.
The problem of Anemia emerges with a low count of red blood cells or less hemoglobin. This fosters low oxygen levels in every organ, creating a tiring sensation. Not only this but a low count of red blood cells brings many other health complications.
Anemia Types
Iron- deficiency AnemiaBeing the most common cause, it is observed especially in females. As the type depicts that anemia due to low iron in the blood is iron-deficiency anemia. The role of iron is to produce hemoglobin, the important component that carries oxygen from the lungs to other body organs.
Aplastic Anemia
Bone marrow disorder where the production of blood cells fails is aplastic anemia.
This occurs due to the damage of blood-forming stem cells present in the bone marrow. Generally, it happens because of autoimmune diseases, despite having normal iron levels.
Hemolytic Anemia
When the red blood cells or hemoglobin are destroyed faster than their production, it is the condition of hemolytic anemia. The main causes behind this are infections, autoimmune diseases, bone marrow disorders, and inherited abnormalities like sickle cell.
