Brides are becoming really bold these days with their choice of wedding dress, with many ditching the traditional white for other colours.

But these colours are very symbolic and not just fashion statements because each of them have different meanings attached to them.

Before you start shopping for your coloured wedding dress or your Aso-ebi, make sure you know the real meaning behind the hue.

White: White stands for purity, innocence and cleanliness. It's also a symbol of a fresh beginning. White can also represent a desire for simplicity or a simple life. For older people, it can mean recapturing lost youth. Other personality traits white can represent are honesty, stubbornness, seriousness and shyness.
