'True Blood' Seasons - Reviews

  • American television series can be too addictive and on a number of occasions you find yourself in a dilemma once a particular series is over! But not anymore! The next time you are worried about a series ending, think of stocking up your DVD section with the True Blood Series. If you fancy horror and serial drama, love something that has other-worldly qualities, then True Blood, the popular American drama television series can be the perfect option for you.

    Telecasted on premium cable network HBO, the series have won Golden Globe and Emmy Awards. It centres on Tru Blood, or the creation of synthetic blood in a fictional universe, a world where the vampires exist. The series deals with the trials and tribulations of Sookie Stackhouse, a telepathic human-faerie hybrid, who is known for exploring contemporary world issues like equal rights, problems of discrimination and violence, drug addiction, faith and religion. The series, in particular focuses on identity crises and the importance of family.

    The series, which aired from September 7, 2008 to August 24, 2014 saw seven seasons. While it enjoyed a great run, the series’ DVD Sales went up high as soon as the series finale originally aired, with fans and those who haven’t seen the series’ first hand decided to stock it up! Here are some of the reviews of True Blood television series. Check them out to decide whether you should watch this series or not!

    Those who have seen all the True Blood Seasons reviewed the series as vampire addition! New York Post’s Linda Stasi originally disliked the concept of show, but slowly, it left her cold and in fact, began to love them. The first five seasons of the show have generally seen positive acclaim, with reviews in USA Today concluding that the series was ‘sexy and witty!’

    Many viewers followed the show because of its star-crossed cute lovers’ paradigm, which was entwined in deep mystery. The show was also considered positive because of its allegory for the LGBT rights movements. Despite using negative removes like ‘God Hates Fags’ and ‘Coming out of the coffin,’ the series managed to draw attention towards the importance of standing for gay rights!

    Sookie in particular has received positive reviews, along with Sookie’s Brother, who sees blossoming romance between Sookie and Bill. In fact most viewers believed that the concept of vampires is what made it entertaining, interesting and slightly edgy at the same time.

    The series has been based on series of books by Charlaine Harris, titled ‘The Southern Vampire Mysteries.’ Several comparisons have been drawn between the book as well as the series, with most people reviewing True Blood as a positive representation for the series and bringing the written words to life.

    So, if you are fond of supernatural elements, then this show will just hook you up! It is known for its carnival theme and will definitely hook you up!
