Brixton 500 X launched in India at Rs. 4.74 lakh

Brixton Bikes: Austrian bike manufacturer Brixton has entered the Indian market. The company has launched 4 new motorcycles simultaneously in the market here. In the market, these bikes compete with Harley-Davidson 450X, Royal Enfield and KTM's big bikes in terms of engine capacity and price.

Initially, the company is bringing these motorcycles to India through the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) route. Which will be assembled at KAW Veloce Motors' factory in Kolhapur. This is the reason why their price is so high. However, the company also plans to start local production in India. Work is underway on this. So that in future the bikes can be made available to the customers at an affordable price. The delivery of these bikes will start from January 2025. So let's see how these bikes are-

Austrian manufacturer Brixton Motorcycles has entered India with as many as five two-wheelers. One of these is the Crossfire 500 X which is a modern-classic roadster. It is a more road-biased sibling of the Crossfire XC scrambler and priced at Rs. 4.74 lakh, ex-showroom.

The Brixton Crossfire 500X comes with a very sporty and rugged design. It has very few body panels. Equipped with a thin single-piece seat retro style, this bike reminds of the old times. It has a round-shaped headlamp and 'X' badging on the fuel tank. Although it has been given a basic design, some elements of the Scrambler are also found in it. The beak-style front mudguard, metal windshield and number plate on the side make it quite attractive.

Starting with the heart of the matter, powering the Crossfire 500 X is a 486cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that produces around 47bhp at 8,500rpm and 43Nm of peak torque at 6,750rpm. This unit comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. The kerb weight of the bike stands at 190kg which, for reference, is lighter than the Royal Enfield Classic 350. The fuel tank capacity of the bike stands at 13.5 litres.

It rides on gorgeous-looking 17-inch spoke wheels that are shod with road-biased Pirelli rubbers. Suspension duties are handled by upside-down forks and a monoshock, both being adjustable and sourced from Kayaba. Braking is handled by a single disc brake at both ends with J. Juan calipers accompanied by a Bosch ABS system. Other features of the bike include an LED lighting setup and an inverted LCD dash.

In the Indian market, these bikes compete with Harley-Davidson 450X, Royal Enfield and KTM's big bikes in terms of engine capacity and price. Recently, KTM has introduced its entire global range in the Indian market. This also includes the company's most expensive bikes. Currently, Brixton is evaluating the market here by introducing these bikes news. Later, their local production will be started, after which their price is expected to decrease.
