l MAF sensor faults

l Misfiring of engine

l Weak battery

The check engine light services

The check engine light can show some serious problems as well as some problems which are not too serious. But the servicing of those problems should be done or else it would cause such issues which cannot be repaired properly. These are the check engine light services done to solve the problems that cause the check engine light glow.

When the check engine light starts to flash, then know that the problems need an urgent solution. Mostly the check engine light glow consistently to make you know that the diagnosis of the problem is not so urgent but need to be fixed in time without delay.

So here are some fixes

Oxygen sensor

Inspect the oxygen sensor well during the inspection for diagnosis of the check engine light issues. The sensor can become faulty due to aging, becoming dirty or by the disconnection from its cables. So, you can check the cables and their connection well. Get the cables connected well to the oxygen sensor if there is disconnection, get the sensor cleaned properly. If the sensor is still not working properly, then the faults could be in the sensor itself, so get it replaced. These sensors last for 80000 miles.

Gas cap

The gas cap might be loose if the check engine light is glowing or flashing. So, you can try to make the gas cap tight. If the cap remains loose even after the attempt to tighten it, then it might be faulty, you have to get it replaced.

Spark plugs

These plugs are checked well if there is some stalling or misfiring of the car. Check the connections to their wires and get the connections done. Clean the spark plugs well. If the plugs are still not able to work properly, then get the faulty ones replaced.

Air intake

Here you have to check if there is any leaks or dirt in the air intake tract and then check the MAF sensor. The vacuum leaks and the dirt accumulation can lead to wrong information from the MAF even if it is not bad. Sometimes the MAF sensor itself becomes faulty.

Battery

Check the battery well, get it tested by voltmeter. If the battery acid becomes weak, then it may give you a low voltage reading. The weak batteries cannot store more electric energy, leading to check engine light and the battery light as well.

The other things to be checked well are the ignition coils, fuel injectors, fuel filter, air filter, fuel pump and pressure regulator, etc and get the faulty parts replaced.

Conclusion

After the fault is identified by reading the fault codes from the scanners, you can be able to easily point out the problem and get it solved. After the inspection, the Land Rover experts would test the parts well and get the faulty components replaced.
