What cause the car to die after a start?
There can be various issues in many systems which would not allow the car to run further. The systems like the electrical system, mechanical system, fuel system, ignition system can most likely to cause the issue. Here are some components which most likely to cause the issue.
Battery problem
It’s the battery which make the engine start. It provides energy to the ignition system for some time while starting, and then the alternator starts to do this work. The battery stores enough electric energy to supply all those components the energy when the alternator could not able to provide than energy. Hence it is necessary for the battery to store the charge. If the battery has some faults, then it would not be able to store enough energy to do all its work. You will find your car simply dying after one second of the starting. This happens because the battery becomes completely discharged. Mostly such batteries are the older or leaking batteries.
Fuel system issue
If there are some issues in the fuel system like bad fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, leaking fuel lines or lack of fuel in the fuel tank of the car. So, in all such cases, the fuel system would not be able to supply enough fuel and there would not be proper pressure. So, the fuel would not reach the engine cylinders properly and hence the car would not be able to run for more time after start. The little amount of fuel in the engine gets consumed in a very less time and then due to no fuel, the engine dies.
Ignition system
The ignition system consists of spark plugs, ignition coils, cylinders, pistons can get damaged and cannot able to burn the fuel and air mixture to produce a large amount of energy. Malfunction in the ignition system can make the engine to die suddenly.
