Maybelline is one of the most famous beauty brands in the world. It was founded in 1915 by Tom Lyle Williams in New York. He was only 19 at the time. He was inspired to make his brand when he saw his younger sister applying a mix of Vaseline and coal dust onto her eyelashes! Her name was Mabel, and so he combined her name with Vaseline to make Maybelline. The first main Maybelline product was the Maybelline Cake Mascara.

Over the years, the company has expanded but also changed hands a number of times. These days, it is a major beauty brand, fully owned by L'Oreal, and endorsed by the likes of Adriana Lima, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Christy Turlington and many others.

Another selling point of the brand is that it does not carry out animal testing and it claims to have adopted this approach since 1989.

Given the large number of Maybelline products, lines and shades that have been created over the years, it goes with the territory that some of these much-loved products have been discontinued to make way for the newer ones. This problem is now being addressed and there is help out there for people looking for particular Maybelline beauty products.

Some of the Maybelline products currently being searched for include the following: " Wonderfinish foundation", "New York Blush Almond Love #30", "Watershine Diamonds Cherry Shimmer Lipstick 101", "16 Hour Lipstick Shade no. 431", "Superstay Powergems Shade 951", "Ultra Brow Brush on Color", "Metallic Rose #80 Lipstick", "#201 Sweet Honey Lipstick", "Illegal Lengths Mascara", "Water Shine 04 Guava Juice", "Purestay Powder Foundation Ivory", "Watershine Diamonds Lipstick Shade 109 Peach Pearl", "Watershine Fusion Lipstick Beige Fusion 705", "Wonder Finish Foundation Liquid Foundation" and so on.

Of course, Maybelline, just like any other beauty or cosmetics company, needs to continually introduce new products and product lines and shades to their product lineup. It is by doing this that they can attract new customers to the Maybelline brand, as well as to spark interest in current or former Maybelline customers. Caution needs to be taken though, in order to minimize the negative impact of instances where the company needs to discontinue certain products to make way for the new ones. There will always be Maybelline customers who will be annoyed, frustrated or even angered by products being discontinued. Sometimes these customers will willingly abandon the brand and try another one to get the replacement they need. Sometimes customers will change brands against their will when they simply cannot find a suitable replacement product by Maybelline, when their preferred product is taken off the shelves. Maybelline needs to try and keep as many of its loyal customers as possible while also expanding its customer base with new products. Luckily there is now help available at no cost to the Maybelline consumer. The consumer can now be helped tracking down a particular hard-to-find, rare or discontinued Maybelline product, or the product can be petitioned back into production. There is hope out there at last!
