The 2025 SAT follows a new, fully digital format, offering a streamlined and adaptive testing experience. The exam is now shorter—lasting about 2 hours and 14 minutes—and is divided into two major sections: Reading & Writing and Math. Each section is designed to test your core academic skills and readiness for college-level coursework.

Reading & Writing Section:

This section includes multiple short passages, each followed by a single, focused question. It assesses reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary in context, and rhetorical skills. Key concepts include sentence structure, punctuation, transitions, and understanding the main idea or purpose of a text.

Math Section:

The Math section covers algebra, advanced math, problem-solving, and data analysis. Topics include linear equations, functions, geometry, and basic trigonometry. Unlike the previous SAT format, calculators are now allowed for the entire Math section. The questions are a mix of multiple-choice and student-produced responses.

Scoring:

Each of the two sections is scored on a scale of 200 to 800, combining for a total score out of 1600. The digital SAT uses adaptive testing, meaning the difficulty level of questions adjusts based on your performance, providing a more personalized and precise evaluation.
