The restyled 2015 Honda CR-V and the class-leading 2015 Honda Odyssey minivan have both been named by U.S. News & World Report as 2015 Best Cars for Families. This is the fifth year in a row that the Honda Odyssey has been chosen as the Best Minivan for Families. The Honda CR-V is the Best Compact SUV for Families.

U.S. News and World Report looked at 259 new vehicles to find the award winners. They considered professional auto reviews, safety and reliability ratings, seating and cargo volume, and the number of family-friendly features available. The CR-V and the Odyssey were both designed to transport families in comfort and style.

The new 2015 Honda CR-V has a direct-injected Earth Dreams Technology i-VTEC four-cylinder engine and a continually variable transmission to improve performance and fuel efficiency. It gets an amazing 27 mpg in the city, 34 mpg on the highway and 29 mpg combined. The all-wheel-drive version gets 26 mpg city, 33 mpg highway and 28 mpg combined.

A new suite of Honda Sensing safety and driver-assist features are available on the CR-V's Touring trim. The Collision Mitigation Braking System stops the vehicle automatically to avoid obstacles on the road. Adaptive cruise control adjusts speed automatically so that you can follow cars easily on the highway. The Lane Keeping Assist System adjusts the steering wheel to keep the vehicle in the correct lane, and the Lane Departure Warning system activates if the CR-V does drift away from the correct lane. Honda Lane Watch gives you a clear view of the blind spot on the passenger side.

The Odyssey provides nimble, athletic handling. Its six-cylinder engine has a six-speed automatic transmission that gets 19 mpg in the city, 28 mpg on the highway, and 22 mpg combined, the best fuel economy in its class. The smooth, quiet ride makes a Honda Odyssey great for family trips.

There's seating for up to eight people in three rows. It also offers lots of convenient features like a cooler and an optional built-in vacuum. The second-row seats fold down for extra cargo space, and there are three beverage holders and a tray for small items. The one-motion third-row Magic Seat provides room for many combinations of people and cargo. All models have rear privacy glass, keyless entry, two-zone air conditioning, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, cruise control, an eight-inch touchscreen display, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, text-to-speech functionality, and a seven-speaker audio system with a CD player, an auxiliary audio input jack and a USB interface. The Touring model even has a 115-volt household-style power outlet. The Touring Elite model's rear-seat entertainment system can play two different sources, like a DVD and a video game, at the same time.

The Odyssey also has great safety features, including a rearview camera on all models. An optional Lane Departure Warning system, as well as an optional Front Collision Warning system, warns people about impending accidents.
