Movie Like Dandelion Dust Is A Must Watch
Posted: Apr 29, 2015
Written by Stephen J. Rivele and Michael LaChance, directed and edited by John Gunn, the movie Like Dandelion Dust is one of the greatest independent Christian dramas ever produced. The movie tells a story about the adoption of Joey Campbell - a 6-year old boy that has to leave his adopted family to live back with his biological parents.
In the beginning of the movie you will get to know the realistic circumstances of two different families. While Jack and Molly Campbell enjoy a good life with their cute son Joey in their waterfront mansion in Florida, Rip and Wendy Porter are doing everything they can to try to survive in Ohio.
Although the movie Like Dandelion Dust is not classified as a Christian movies, it definitely presents some spiritual elements and themes on the screen. Having Barry Pepper, Mira Sorvino, Maxwell Perry Cotton, Kate Levering and Cole Hause as part of the cast, the movies is a masterpiece that has won various awards, including the Heartland Truly Moving Picture Award.
The movie Like Dandelion Dust contrasts different meanings and aspects of parenthood by showing the privileged life-style of the Campbell's against the struggling but loving Porters. Although the Campbell's are determined to keep their adopted son, the Porters have found a mistake in adoption documents and are determined to start a new life with their birth son. The movie presents few comprehensive scenes awaking us to remember how good or bad a person can be.
Rip is Joey's biological father. After serving a 7-year sentence for abuse over his loving wife Wendy, he got released from prison and is convinced to start a new life with his wife and his son. Because his signature was forged on the original adoption documents, the judge's decided that Joey needs to be given back to his biological parents.
In the Movie Like Dandelion Dust, the target is to show people how an adoption that seems right can end up wrong. And how kids – like Joey- have to leave back a stable life with parents that they know to get used to live with 'strangers'.
On the movie, Joey has a happy end. After Wendy realized that Joey cannot live with them, she agrees to give Joey back to the Campbell's permanently. And this time with the adoption documents done properly.
