It is very necessary to teach your little dog the right pet healthcare habits like giving it the right toilet training to groom it the right way.

When you bring home a new puppy, one of the most difficult challenges one has to face is training it with basics like Toilet Training. Be prepared for one thing that no matter whether your dog is a puppy or an adult, there will surely be some accidents which you surely need to clean up. If you consider in theory, it is a simple thing to do but when you bring it into practice, it is surely a frustrating as well as a very lengthy process especially the case when you do not have good knowledge.

Here are four basic steps which can be followed to train your puppy with proper toilet training.

  1. Try to stay with your puppy all the time when you are toilet training it. If you are not being able to monitor its training then fix a proper place like crate, laundry, bathroom or playpen.

  2. Arrange for proper rewards and gifts. Give your dog treats as they are modified by it. Just try to keep it the treat within few seconds of the activity.

  3. Try to take your puppy outside every hour. If you repeat the process consistently, then it will surely grow into a habit. Try to give your pet a reward within 24 hours of good behavior.

  4. Always be patient and consistent with your dog and try to avoid punishment. If you punish your dog after any sort of accident then you will be feared but not loved. Try to move on from the accident and take your puppy outside more often.

Puppy Pads

Many pet owners keep training pads on the floor along with newspaper to teach your little friend about the correct place. If your puppy knows to do its toilet there, then you can slowly move more closer and closer to door. Try to teach your dog to use the pad outside the house.

If your puppy is being crated, try to use absorbent pads as they are easier to clean. So you can easily put the puppy there and avoid the mess in the house.

Crate Training

You need to know that you would not be able to stay with your dog all the time. But your puppy does need rest. It is necessary to send your puppy for rest every day as it needs a lot of rest nearly 16 hours a day. Try to provide a confined place to puppy so as to avoid roaming accidents.

Crate are perfect for puppies as it is safe and cozy and it is big enough to a fully grown dog to even turn in around when it is fully grown. If the area is small and limited then you will get additional benefits as your little dog will try to hold on to avoid messing its bed and toilet areas.

How to know the time when you need to take your dog out for toilet?

Puppies need to use toilets much more frequently than adult dogs. This is because they have small bladders and cannot simply hold on. Older dogs need to pee after 10 minutes t0 20 minutes after any sort of drinking and eating activities.

That is reason you do need to take your adult dog out for toilet nearly every two hours. Some proper warning signs include sniffing as well as circling the ground. Watch your dog closely to monitor the activities properly.

You do need to take proper care for puppies and groom it the right and perfect ways as early grooming habits teach your little pet animal proper behavior.
