U4GM Diablo 4 Torment 1-12 Progression Guide
Posted: Jul 17, 2026
Torment climbing in Diablo 4 gets easier once you stop treating every tier as a damage check. The real gains come from spending Paragon points wisely and rebuilding weak gear instead of waiting for a perfect drop. Early on, even a few smart upgrades to your D4 items can make a noticeable difference. Torment 1 begins after a Pit 10 clear at level 70, then the unlocks spread out as you move higher: every five Pit levels through Torment 5, followed by ten-level jumps from Torment 6 to Torment 12. The Season Journey should stay on your radar, too, since it supplies useful materials while you climb.
Build Your Power in the Right OrderParagon Boards are often handled too quickly. Many players rush straight to Glyph sockets, but low-level Glyphs need time and investment before they feel strong. In the early tiers, aim for Legendary Nodes first, then collect useful Rare and Magic Nodes on the route. Life, armour, resistance, and class-specific bonuses can keep you alive when your damage is still catching up. This approach gives immediate value and leaves you with more points for practical defensive stats. Once you reach Torment 5, start working toward your chosen Glyph sockets and raise the Glyphs you actually use to level 25.
Craft Around Your BuildCrafting is one of the quickest ways to fix a character that feels stuck. Use an Ancestral glove, ring, or amulet when possible; an 850 Item Power piece is a reasonable backup. Put the item in the Horadric Cube with an Aggressive Tuning Prism, then add the available affixes. The results are partly random, so do not burn every prism on one bad roll. Remove the affix if the outcome misses your build, and take the prism out before you transmute. If supplies run low, a Tribute of Ingenuity with a Bargain can help you collect more.

The Cube can reroll them toward a set that fits your build. Greater Lair Keys arrive at Torment 6, Unique Charms at Torment 8, and Mythic Horadric Seals at Torment 10. While moving through these stages, keep your routine simple.
- Keep War Plans active for better experience.
- Run Undercity activities when they support prism farming.
- Use several different damage multipliers instead of stacking one stat.
- Save useful Ancestral jewellery and gloves for later crafting.
Torment 10 is where progression becomes more personal. Rewards do not scale as sharply, so the goal shifts toward better rolls, stronger Glyphs, complete Paragon paths, and targeted Lair Boss farming. If you are dying, trade a little damage for life, armour, resistance, or defensive board nodes. If your character survives comfortably, refine charm rolls and replace average affixes one at a time. That steady process, supported by D4 items cheap when you need to fill a gap, is what carries a solid build through Torment 12.
