Assam CEE 2015 - Ticket to study at Assam's Engineering & Medical Colleges

Assam Common Entrance Examination (CEE) is conducted by the Dibrugarh University on behalf of the Assam Government. The examination enables the students to take admission in the engineering and medical courses in Assam. The examination is conducted annually, and as it is a state level examination, only the colleges which are there in Assam are open for admission. The students are generally domiciles of Assam and/or residents of other north-eastern states of India.

The Assam CEE 2015 will be conducted on two days – 16th and 17th May, 2015. The last date for filling up the application form was 18th April. The students who had filled up the application form on time and were eligible for taking the examination can download their respective admit cards from the 7th May, 2015.

The examination, being a state-level examination, is conducted in a very tradition format, and students take the test on pencil-paper format. It is a state level examination and the courses offered are only for the undergraduate level. The article shall be restricted to the engineering aspect of the examination, although even medical courses are offered by the board.

To be eligible to take the Assam CEE examination, a candidate must be a citizen of India or a person of India. Also, for the general category, the students must have secured at least 50% aggregate marks in their Higher Secondary Examination. The minimum percentage for the aggregate is revised to 45% for SC/ST categories. A student who wishes to take the examination must be at least 17 years old and must not be older than 21 years. Any revision regarding the age limit shall be under the discretion of the governing body.

There are quite a lot of seats reserved for various categories. With 40% seats reserved for OBC/SC/ST and another 9 seats reserved for other categories such s children of war fighters, service people’s children, ex-tea gardener community children, there are very few seats available for the general category. Apart from this, there is reservation for students from Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Tripura. However, to claim these reserved seats, the candidates must produce certificates to prove their reserved categories. Only if such certificates are genuine will the reserved seats eb granted to these candidates.

The candidates had filled up the online application form by logging on to the official portal of Assam CEE. They were required to fill in all the required information and to make the payments via challan to any SBI branch. Again, as far as the admit card is concerned, which will be available from 7th May, 2015, students can download the admit card from the official portal by entering their roll numbers. Students must take note of the fact that no admit-cards shall be sent via post to any student.
