Then, to ease the pressure on the main city several satellite townships were developed and as a longer-term measure, a master plan has been developed creating a National Capital Region (NCR), encompassing a few districts from the neighboring states of Haryana, Rajsathan and Uttar Pradesh. Although, day to day administration of these districts and the colonies falling within the jurisdiction of the states are managed by the state government departments, the rapid urbanisation of several of these pockets and the growth of real estate have followed the pattern more akin to the capital.
