The adhesive quality of the pigments is achieved with the help of the binder that suspends the pigments after being used. Pigments are available in both inorganic and organic type. Organic Yellow Pigment is used across several industries as it is a very good resistor of heat, and is also eco-friendly and non-reactive in nature.

Attributes to look for while selecting Pigments

Different types of pigments have different types of uses and many properties such as resistance and stability may also vary. The pigments are selected based on their following qualities.

  • Resistance to Ultraviolet light: Absorption of UV light leads to degradation of products that use pigments and dyes. Many pigments absorb UV light which changes their colors. This is one of the main reasons why paintings and fabrics are not exposed to direct sunlight for a long period of time. So, while selecting a pigment it is important to check its resistance to Ultraviolet light.
  • Resistance to Heat: Different pigments have different resistance to thermal energy. The heat resistance capacity of Yellow Pigments is quite efficient. If there is a possibility that after usage the pigments will come in constant contact with heat, then it is advisable to go for a pigment with high thermal resistance capacity.
  • Toxicity: It is important to check the toxicity of the pigments before using them. Toxic pigments should never be used on any form of living organism as they may have harmful effects on it.
  • Resistance to Acids: The resistance capacity of the pigments to different types of alkalis and acids should be more if they are to be constantly exposed to environments that deals with them.

Uses of Pigments
