Heating systems are unavoidable requirements, especially during the harsh chilling winter seasons. The central heating and hot water are prominent for households due to their several uses. Markets are flooded with several types and models of boilers. However, it is better to pursue some information about them before making any decision. It is because decisions taken in haste can create troubles for a long time.

Some boiler types and their variants

The following discusses briefly about the several kinds of boilers and their available variants in the markets:

Regular boilers: These are also known as conventional boilers. The regular boiler systems typically comprise a boiler, cylinder, tank and expansion cisterns. It consumes more of the house space as compared to the others due its constituents. One may opt for regular gas boilers depending upon the gas connection facilities are available in the area. People living in those areas where there is unavailability of natural gas can select the regular electric boilers for their homes, as they are cleaner and greener forms of energy.

Combination boilers: Also known as Combi boilers are space saving heating systems as they do not require tanks or cylinders in the loft. Probably, it is considered a best option for the houses that require their loft space for any other purpose or do not have enough space. It heats up the water instantly and that’s why there is no reason to wait. It would be better for houses that need to move over their old regular boilers and install an efficient heating system. Combinational gas and electric boilers are in much demand due to their energy-efficient attributes. Moreover, there are not heat losses in Combi boilers unlike the regular ones.

Condensing boilers: Clearly stating that it is not a boiler type and acts as an attribute for a boiler of either conventional or combination type. They are termed energy efficient as they preserve the heat that gets escaped in a non-condensing type boiler. The heat is again used for preventing extra spending on fuel. It saves a lot of money on the bills. Condensing gas boilers can be great heating systems for the houses.

System Boilers: These boiler types are also known as sealed system boilers as it has sealed unit and uses water storage for storing the hot water. Benefit of installing system boilers in a house is it can deliver hot water without any change in pressure at several outlets. But, it can be more expensive in case of repairs and installation.

Other than the variant models of gas and electric boilers, there are biomass and oil boilers available for places that do not have electricity and natural gas arrangements. The biomass boilers use wood logs or pellets for generating heat and are relatively cheaper than the others. The Buyers may ask for prices and quotes from various manufacturing companies to compare the prices offered by them on specific models. It is better to observe the household requirement before deciding on a boiler.
