Crushed granite is an ideal option for landscaping and designing any kind of pathway. This is an effective material compared to concrete and gives a compact look to the installed area. Most of the building contractors and house owners prefer this material due to its texture, color and durability. It is available in a range of types graded by their size. One can choose the types like, #1, #2, #10, #57, #411 etc. for various residential and commercial projects. In comparison to the concrete landscaping, granite is easy to install and provides a natural look.

Let's have a look at the landscaping areas where this rock can be used.

Creating a Walkway:

Granite stone is a great addition to the walkways. Whether, it's a beautiful garden or the way from a house to patio, one can lay this stone for improving the design and the look of the installed area. It can also be used in other paved surface of the yard as it involves a fairly quick process of installation. The most important consideration is, climate. If the region gets a considerable amount of rainfall, there is a need to remove the dirt, grass and other roots that turns the walkway muddy. So, the ideal option is to spread the small stones within the line and plant the low-growing flowers for a colorful look.

Making Borders:

This is completely a decorating action. As the granites are small, they can be arranged in different landscape designs. One can spread them around a bush having beautiful flowers, the border of an invasive grass area, etc. The tiny particles of granite also have the capacity to absorb the water runoff. So, it's an added advantage that helps in protecting the plants. The process is very simple. One can dig the border up to 5 inches and put the material directly.

Constructing a Driveway:

While constructing a driveway, the use of crushed granite requires less man hours and effort. Here, the deepness of the hole is slightly higher than the borders. At least an 8 inch of dirt should be removed before adding the stones. The material can be transported and dumped directly to the site before rolling in the driveway. The border can also be constructed, using the medium sized stones.

Designing a Sitting Area:

People love to set up a sitting area amid the garden or near their house. If, the area is muddy or grass don't grow well, one can use the granite stone for designing an improved sitting area. It creates a great atmosphere for the family to make fun, have food together or simply the location can be used for sitting and enjoying the fresh air. As, the material is softer on the feet, children also love to play on the surface.

Apart from the design and look factor, granite landscaping is also popular due to its weight, and affordable transportation cost. The only requirement is to choose the right service provider who delivers the construction grade quality materials on time and on budget.
