The 2015 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid has been honored by Kelley Blue Book as a "10 Most Fuel-Efficient Car Under $25,000". As one of the top ten, the Sonata has been recognized for both its fuel economy and its pricing value.

When it comes to pricing value, the Sonata Hybrid stands out for several reasons. The 2015 model did not increase in price. The product is covered by an industry-exclusive Hybrid Lifetime Battery Warranty. The car is covered by the longest Limited and Powertrain warranties in the automotive industry. The car's combination of pure electric drive and 38 mpg fuel economy make it one of the most budget-smart cars on the market.

The executive editorial director of Kelley Blue Book, Jack R. Nerad, explained that the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid combined the upscale feel and luxury features of its conventional counterpart with the added benefit of exceptional fuel economy. These factors helped ensure its inclusion on the list of the 10 Most Fuel-Efficient Cars Under $25,000.

The hybrid midsized sedan gets 36 mpg when driving in the city and 40 mpg on the highway. According to the fuel calculator at the website run by the U.S. Department of Energy, the Hyundai Sonata saves owners about $3,000 in fuel costs over five years. It has a total fuel range of 703 miles.

The 2015 Sonata Hybrid is not a plug-in, but it features pure electric drive. The system, which utilizes an electric motor and a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, can travel on electric power at speeds up to 74 mph. Pure electric drive capability allows it to switch seamlessly between the use of gasoline and the use of electric power. This ensures better power delivery when needed while still conserving fuel whenever possible.

Adding to the Sonata Hybrid's appeal is its performance prowess. While many larger sedans make do with less, the Sonata Hybrid's powertrain generates 199 horsepower. By comparison, the Toyota Prius hybrid powertrain generates only 134 horsepower.

In its review, Kelley Blue Book praised the car for offering a touch of luxury for less money. It cited the car's optimal ergonomics and spacious interior. The Sonata Hybrid's base edition comes with a long list of standard features. This includes interior conveniences such as push button start, a programmable HVAC thermostat and heated front seats. Dash tech standards include Bluetooth, HD Radio and Blue Link telematics for smartphone integration. Standard tech equipment includes a touchscreen, a 6-speaker CD stereo and a rearview camera. The Limited edition adds leather upholstery and navigation.
