The Subaru Forester has been a popular model for the Japanese auto brand in the Australian market. However, one of the common complaints from Subaru enthusiasts is that there was no diesel auto option in the vehicle line up. Fortunately, Subaru has now addressed this issue and 2015 will see the first diesel CVT model available in showrooms.

This news is likely to attract a great deal of attention with Subaru Forester sale prices for this model reflecting a massive saving on the Manufacturer List Price. The free trade agreement between Japan and Australia prompted the brand to announce that with any Subaru for sale, Perth drivers could see massive savings. The Forester range saw a reduction of $1,000 in addition to the realigned price structure, which created further savings. This newly introduced model will be available from $29,990, which represents a saving of $2500 compared to the superseded variant.

The introduction of a Lineartronic CVT variant to the 2.0 litre turbocharged diesel Subaru Forester allows drivers to experience an even greater option for thrifty long range driving. The model benefits from the five star ANCAP occupant safety rating and Symmetrical All Wheel Drive, making it a very attractive proposition. The diesel engine has also been refined to add efficiency and ensure compliance with the strict regulations of the EURO6 emission standards.

Of course, this new Subaru Forester option benefits from the wide range of gadgets and innovations available throughout the range. This includes the new infotainment system which allows for simple control of audio systems, pairing with devices, Bluetooth streaming and speech recognition controls. There are also revised interior trim options to ensure that the Subaru Forester sale figures will be impressive.

According to Nick Senior, Managing Director for Subaru Australia, adding a CVT option to the Forester diesel line up will provide a "huge boost" to the model range. Senior acknowledged that the dealer network has expressed "significant pent up demand" for an auto diesel option. This is especially the case in rural and regional areas, where there is even greater demand for fuel efficiency on long range driving.

Senior also expressed that the cabin refinements and major changes to the infotainment system across the whole range will create a "formidable" package for the Subaru Forester, with all of the renowned traits such as five star ANCAP safety, symmetrical All Wheel Drive, solid engineering, retained value and durability, which has made Subaru a popular choice.

Since the introduction of the original Forester back in 1997, Subaru has established the compact Sports Utility Vehicle segment and the model has gone on to be one of the most awarded models across the whole industry. Just last year, the 2.5i was named the Best AWD SUV under $45,000 by the Australia Best Car Awards. It is this solid reputation which has Senior predicting that this new model will add further interest in the model and attract sales of approximately 200 units each month.
