From a field of 54 different models, the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) named the new Chrysler 300 'The Car of Texas' and 'Family Car of Texas' for 2015. The honor was awarded as the result of evaluations by 52 auto writers/car experts who put each of the cars through specific paces on the Texas Motor Speedway Racetrack. The Car of Texas award, presented at the end of the two-day Texas Car Roundup, is the highest honor bestowed by the group each year.

The 2015 Chrysler 300

The all-new 2015 Chrysler 300 is the grandchild of another stylish icon of sixty years ago, the 1955 Chrysler 300. Like its ancestor, the 2015 model is way ahead of its time, setting new standards in style, luxury and performance.

Chrysler designers have brought a new flair and style to this new design. And excellence doesn’t stop with the exterior elements. The interior is about world-class comfort and safety with electronics that surpass the competition.

Models

The 2015 Chrysler 300 is offered in four different models, each with a choice of rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. The Chrysler 300 models are the Limited, the 300S, the 300C and the 300C Platinum. The base prices range from the RWD Limited at $31,395 to the all-wheel drive 300C Platinum priced at $44,895.

Powertrain

Each model is offered with Chrysler’s 3.6L Pentastar® V-6 engine that provides a powerful and super economical 292 horsepower and its best-in-class 31 mpg highway. An even more powerful alternative (available on the S, C and the 300C Platinum) is the 5.7L HEMI® V-8 engine with Fuel Saver technology that senses when additional power is no longer required and will actually shut down four cylinders for greater efficiency. The available All-Wheel-Drive system operates seamlessly and automatically, requiring no input from the driver to adapt to changing road conditions.

All Chrysler 300s are equipped with the Torque-Flight® eight-speed automatic transmission with Rotary E-shift.

Interior

Unique to the Chrysler 300 series, all models come standard with leather-trimmed seating. The front seats are fully-adjustable with four-way lumbar positions for added comfort. Heated and ventilated front and rear seats are available.

Various steering wheel configurations are among the choices, including a heated option on the 300C Platinum.

Exterior

Each model has some different and distinctive exterior design accents in chrome, including bright chrome, platinum chrome and even black chrome. The front grille presents a very bold and immediately identifiable look. As for the profile, Chrysler describes an "inspired combination of sculpted curves, advanced lighting, bold wheels and an aggressive stance".

All of this comes together to present a powerful, unique and beautiful package.

Safety Features

Chrysler 300s are loaded with safety features. Some of these include Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking when the car senses a potential rear-end impact ahead. The adaptive cruise control will establish a safe distance from the car ahead, and then slow down when you are getting too close. The lane departure warning system will alert you if the car is drifting into another lane without a prior turn signal.

Other state-of-the-art safety features include rearview back-up camera, park assist, electronic stability control, rain brake support. And high-beam control lamps that automatically dim when oncoming cars are approaching.

Technology

The Chrysler 300 is loaded with technological advances. The UConnect system provides hands-free entertainment and communication and even some downloadable apps for further adaptability. All of this is presented on 7-inch diagonal dashboard screen, the DID or Driver’s Information Display in multi-color graphics.

Excellence

The superiority of the 2015 Chrysler 300 must be seen and driven to be fully appreciated. A bold and beautiful design, combined with power and efficiency, plus a luxurious interior and world-class safety features are the reasons that this 300 was named the 'Car of Texas' for 2015.
